Together with Southend East we run and organise sport opportunities for 32 schools in Southend we continue to promote and develop Physical Education and Sport for all young people.
We deliver competitions, festivals, teachers courses and leadership opportunities for students within Secondary and Primary Schools in Southend.
This programme is a celebration of competitive sport that involves The School Sport Partnership. Giving all young people from years 3-13 of all abilities and backgrounds the opportunity to participate in a year round sporting calendar with around 60 sports available, specifically designed to get children competing at intra-school and inter school levels and culminating in local, regional and national events.
The School Games is made up of 4 levels of competition:
Level 1: Intra-school competition, culminating in a School Games day
Level 2: Regular inter-school competition between schools at a local level – including partnership competitions
Level 3: Annual county/area culmination of inter-school competitions – School Games Festivals
Level 4: National multi-sport event
Whilst pupils are off school during lockdown we have produced a number of activity ideas that children can complete whilst they are off school.
