Ten Teams turnout for the Table Tennis

Temple Sutton was the host venue for the first competition of the year the table tennis tournament.

Ten teams of Year 5’s & 6’s students from various schools battled against other schools. The games were full of pace and top spin, umpires were sent dizzy with quick returns and smash shots. The teams this year could be mixed as before but this was not compulsory.

Earls Hall came out on top with a team consisting of two girls and two boys, Heycroft came 2nd, with Bournes Green A team and Chalkwell Hall schools 3rd and 4th. Well done to all schools that took part: Temple Sutton, Thorpe Hall, Heycroft B, Temple B, Bournes Green B and Hamstel. Earls Hall and Heycroft will represent Southend in the Essex competition later on in the year.

A big thank you to the SWSSP and SESSP team and to all the staff who supported and supervised the children. A special thanks to Temple Sutton for providing refreshments and hosting this competition.
