Leigh on Sea Sport Relief Mile

Despite cold conditions there was a great turn-out for the Leigh on Sea Sport Relief Mile held on Sunday 25th March at the Eastwood Academy Track. A total of 250 runners braved the chilly weather to run either 1,3 or 6 miles for chairity, with the races being started by local celebrity Countdown girl Rachel Riley.

After a warm up led by Excel gym instructors, runners were set off in their waves around the 1 mile course which started and finished on the Eastwood Academy Track where all competitors received a Sport Relief Mile medal for their fundraising efforts!

Congratulations to all that took part and a huge thank you must go to all members of The Eastwood Academy staff, their families and volunteers who gave up their time to help on the day as well as to Rachel Riley and the staff from Excel Gym.
