SPSSA TORCH RELAY Day 2 Tuesday 26th June

Day 2 of the Southend Primary School Sports Association Torch Relay began with a handover ceremony from Heycroft to Edwards Hall torchbearers, who carried the torch back to their school where they were welcomed by a great reception with flags and banners on show from all pupils.

Fairways School torchbearers soon arrived to carry the torch to their school where they were greeted by a reception of excited pupils.

Soon it was time for one of the longest legs of the torch relay, where it was carried from Fairways all the way to West Leigh School escorted by staff from the Southend West Partnership as well as staff and parents from the school. West Leigh torchbearers were greeted by one of the biggest receptions seen so far on the relay, with the whole school showing their support by lining the playground and singing upon the torch's entrance.
