SPSSA TORCH RELAY Day 6 Tuesday 3rd July

Day 6 of the SPSSA Torch Relay started with the torch leaving Prince Avenue being carried by torchbearers from the Westborough School on one of the longest journeys so far. Once the pupils arrived back at their school they were greeted by one of the best receptions the torch relay team had seen throughout the whole relay, with the headmistress from Westborough lighting their own version of the Olympic flame to Queen’s “We are the champions” whilst flags from almost every country were being flown by pupils in the playground.

The next school to collect the torch from Westborough was St Hilda’s who did a brilliant job of carrying the torch back to their school, despite the rain and were rewarded by a brilliant reception from their fellow pupils upon their return!

Soon it was time for the torchbearers from Crowstone to collect the torch and carry it the short journey back to their school where the welcomed back to their school by pupils singing an Olympic song they had rehearsed.
