Sun Shines for KS1 Cross Country Competition!

The sun was shining as 10 schools took part in the Key Stage 1 Southend Schools Cross Country Championships at Garons Park hosted by the Southend West School Sports Partnership with help from the Young Leaders of The Eastwood Academy.

The weather could not have been better for the afternoon's racing with the standard of competition high in all races. The overall Year 1 competition was won by Bournemouth Park School, with Heycroft School in second and Our Lady of Lourdes RC in third. The Year 2 competition was won by Hamstel Infant School with Alleyn Court finishing in the runners up spot and Heycroft School ever present in third.

The Southend West SSP would like to say a big thank you to all the schools who participated in today's competition, including staff and pupils, as well as to all the parents who came to support! A big congratulations to all runners, especially those individual champions listed below:
