SWSSP Friendly Cross Country Match a success!

The Southend West School Sport Partnership's first inter-school friendly cross country match took place on Tuesday 16th October at Grove Wood Primary School with nearly 80 children taking part from Edwards Hall Primary School, Grove Wood Primary School, Prince Avenue Primary School as well as a few runners from Heycroft Primary and Alleyn Court School.

The racing was split into year groups with the Year 3 boys and girls setting off first for their 1000m route. The Year 4s were up next following the same route before the Year 5 and Year 6 races were held over 1600m. All runners did extremely well with everybody completing the course with great support from parents and teachers.

The afternoon's races gave children experience of being in a competitive environment which will have helped build their confidence for future competitions.
