Southend West SSP Mini Games 2013

The Southend West School Sports Partnership's Mini Games took place yesterday on the World Class Eastwood Athletics Track with over 150 Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children taking part from schools all across the borough.

Children from Barons Court, Blenheim, Bournemouth Park, Heycroft, Our Lady of Lourdes and St George's were split into mixed groups and then sent around our athletics track to try their hand at a variety of stations that were led by our team of Sports Leaders from The Eastwood Academy.

Stations included: Obstacle Relay, Foam Javelin, Long Jump, Agility Ladders, Shot Putt, Tailball Throw, Parachute Run and the Hoop Challenge. The aim of the day was to have fun and make new friends whilst using the Olympic Values of Respect, Excellence and Friendship as well as the Paralympic Values of Determination, Courage, Equality and Inspiration.

We at the Southend West SSP were extremely impressed with the fantastic attitude all pupils showed during the morning and afternoon Mini Games session and look forward to seeing you all next year!
