Athletics Network Of The Year: Essex Athletics Network

The Southend West School Sports Partnership are pleased to announce that the Essex Athletics Network, with whom we are partnered, won the England Athletics Award for Athletics Network of the Year! Below is the article from the England Athletics website:

Since its launch in October 2010 the Essex Athletics Network has established itself as an active and growing focus for the development of athletics in south and west Essex and adjacent London boroughs.

Starting with seven clubs, now it's 15 in all – plus an additional active external partner Cedar Hall Clinics.  The Network has an extensive and varied coach education programme, Sportshall competitions, a Sustainability Working Party, teenage athlete development, identifying ability & talent, goal & target setting - and in March 2013 they hosted a well-received pilot Disability Athletics Inclusion Course at Chelmsford, attended by ten coaches from Network Clubs and Partners.
