6th Win for West Leigh

A big congratulations to all who took part in the Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby on the 24th October. 17 Schools attended the event held at the Southend Rugby & Football Club. The teams were split into four pools and matches were played. The competition consisted of each team playing each other team in their pool, with the two top teams from each pools going through to the Super 8 competition in the afternoon. All schools were blessed with the fantastic weather and the sun shone the whole day.

The participating schools were West Leigh, Prince Avenue, Bournemouth Park, Barons Court, Thorpe Hall, Heycroft, Temple Sutton, Westborough, Fairways, Earls Hall, Milton Hall, Scared Heart, Hamstel, Bournes Green, Richmond, St Michaels & Blenheim. The final was between previous winners West Leigh & Milton Hall. Both Southend teams were determined to win, however West Leigh took the title for the 6th year in a row with a 9-3 win.
