School Rugby Ambassadors

The Eastwood Academy was selected to be a Rugby Ambassador School by the Youth Sport Trust. School Games organiser Hayley Pegg nominated the Eastwood Academy for their success in the partnerships leadership programme. 

The PE department have selected:

  • Kiah Froud
  • Henry Bashford
  • Darcy Catlin
  • Jessica Hawes

For their great leadership skills and hard work during Physical Education. Mr Bracknell PE teacher at the Eastwood Academy and Club Rugby player is looking forward to the project. " It's great to see both boys and girls involved in this project and I am looking forward to increasing participation across the borough in a fun, fast paced sport" 

These four ambassadors will receive a T Shirt, training and opportunities throughout the World Cup in 2015.

Their responsibilities will be:

  • To create a notice board for Rugby World Cup News 2015
  • Provide updates in assemblies
  • Increase participation in rugby by using the inspiration of the Rugby World Cup 2015
  • Assist the Sports Partnership with ideas for the Tag Rugby festivals
  • Use the RFU Values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportsmanship) and encourage others to use them throughout the school
