Sports Coach – Southend West Sports Partnership

Hours and Salary Dependent on experience and qualification

The Southend West SSP is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic coach to join their team.

The Southend West Sports Partnership provides services for fifty four schools within the Southend Borough. The Sports partnership consists of a team of enthusiastic people who have a variation of sporting experiences, interest and skills who work together to develop PE and sport opportunities for all young people.

The Southend West Partnership is also the local authority CPD provider who offer courses and is the hub to the Southend region.

The coach will assist the SGO and directly contribute to all areas of coaching, those qualified in Athletics, Dance, Gymnastic, Netball & Tag Rugby are of interest.  

The role will include community, event and school delivery. There may be an opportunity to work across Essex as well as in Southend.

The successful applicant will work closely with the SGO and project coordinator to ensure a professional and consistent approach to the Southend West SSP programs. The position also has the opportunity to gain further qualifications and development through mentoring from the SGO.

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organised and have a proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Successful applicants will be motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy working as part of a team. The ability to work autonomously is paramount.

Essential All applicants MUST be:

• UKCC Level 1 qualified (or higher)

• CRB checked

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to quickly develop successful working relationships with people from different backgrounds and with varying levels of sporting ability.

• Work well with children

• Able to travel using own transport
