KS1 Cross Country Spectacle

On 8th October 5 schools came together for the first event of the academic year, the KS1 Cross Country competition.  120 boys and girls in Year 1 and 2 from St Christopher’s, West Leigh Infants, Milton Hall, Sacred Heart and Heycroft Primary ran their set distances of 600m and 800m in front terrific support from parents, guardians and teachers.  The sun was beating down as all of the runners successfully completed the course with the top 4 scoring children from each school winning points for their team totals.

Students from Eastwood High School were perfect ambassadors as they marshalled and supported the children throughout the afternoon. The support of the Sports Leader is always greatly valued as these events are not possible without them.  Many congratulations to West Leigh Infants and Heycroft Primary for taking the top 3 individual places in each category, however, the standard of running at such a young age was fantastic from all 5 schools.  For the full list of individual and team results please refer to the “Resources” section of the website (“Competition Results” category). Photos from the day can be seen in the “Photo Gallery”.
