Blown to success in KS2 Cross Country!

On a windy afternoon at Eastwood High School, a record number of pupils (almost 400) in KS2 in the Southend West SSP were blown along a tough cross country course. 11 schools were represented, with 6 of those schools qualifying for the Essex Finals in various year-groups (also a record number!). 24 medals were won and certificates were well-earned by all of the competitors in the field!

One competitor in Yr 6 from Darlinghurst was so determined he pulled off his shoe (that was only half on) and went through the finish line with it in his hand!

The times for each race would have broken records as well, but were wind assisted down the final straight!

Well done to everyone involved! We will have a tough job beating those records next year.

See the "resources" section for the full results, or click below. The photos from the day will be in the "photo gallery" very soon.

Finally, thanks to the massive support that the pupils received from family and friends, it made for a great atmosphere!
