KS1 Sportshall Athletics Competition

On Thursday the 25th of November before the snow hit Southend the St Christopher’s School kindly provided the venue for the SWSSP KS1 Sportshall Athletics ! The competition included both track and field events. The young leaders from the Westcliff Boys High School demonstrated the range of events to the competitors with bounds of enthusiasm and assisted the competitors whilst they raced. From a mission impossible styled obstacle course to the over and under course and finally Sprint relays that would rival Usian Bolt himself!.

Edwards Hall came 1st in the morning session retaining their title from last year with St Mary’s as close runners up. Leigh Infants achieved 3rd place and St Christopher’s performed extremely well in 4th place winning a few of the sprint races.

In the afternoon session Heycroft achieved a well deserved 1st place, with West Leigh close behind in 2nd place and Blenheim came 3rd.

A massive thank you to our young leaders from Westcliff Boys High School and also to the children and teachers from all the schools who made the event .We couldn’t have done it without you all! A big thank you to the team at SWSSP who organised the competition and acted as Team managers for the schools.
