County Style Sportshall a success

The Year 5 & 6 Sportshall Athletics Competition took place today at the St Christopher’s School, thanks goes to St Christopher’s for kindly providing the venue for this event. The competition included both track and field events and took the form of what is seen at the County competition introducing Soft Javelin into the field events and one lap and two lap sprints on the track.

Heycroft showed great enthusiasm and determination to come 1st in the morning session with St Mary’s as close runners up. St Christopher’s performed extremely well to come 3rd which included a winner in the Soft Javelin throwing a lengthy 13 metres.

In the afternoon session Chalkwell Hall achieved a well deserved 1st place and were overwhelmed with this surprise win, Blenheim came back from a slow start to finish second leaving Westborough and Leigh North Street to battle it out for 3rd and 4th respectively.

A massive thank you to our young leaders from Westcliff High School for Boys and also to the children and teachers from all the schools .We couldn’t have done it without you all! A big thank you to the team at SWSSP who organised the competition and competition manager Tracy Bennett. The SWSSP team send Heycroft Good Luck who will now be representing the West on the 23rd March at the Essex County Competition.
