Welcome to 2011, where this year's Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week, 27 June - 1 July, promises to be even bigger and better, offering you more ideas, more resources and more opportunities to be involved in London 2012.

Registering for Britain’s biggest celebration of school sport is easy and if you register today, you could win a school visit from an Olympic or Paralympic star*.  If you took part in 2010, you will need to register again for this year.

In 2011 pupils will be invited to pledge to achieve a personal best, individually, with their class, or with their club, and at any level and standard.  Once you are registered you will be sent a free resource pack with ideas and plans to help pupils achieve these before, during and after the week.

National School Sport Week uses the power of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire millions of young people to take part in more sport and physical activity. Over 14,000 schools and nearly 5 million pupils tried new Olympic and Paralympic sports in 2010, with many going on to join a club in or outside school.

The week takes place from 27 June – 1 July 2011 and will help you continue on the journey to London 2012 and beyond, by helping your pupils achieve their personal best in an Olympic or Paralympic Sport.

And the week is not just about sport – it can be used across the curriculum to create excitement for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  Your free resource pack and the website will provide lots of ideas to help you involve the whole school and pupils of all ages, as well as engage the local community in the week-long celebration.

Don’t forget, register before 31 January and you could win a school visit from an Olympic or Paralympic star* to help your pupils share in the excitement of London 2012.
