Year 5 & 6 Basketball

The day had arrived for the year 5/6 Basketball from Shoeburyness High School, Alleyn Court last year’s winners had come back to try to retain their title with a team they believed could go all the way.The tournament got underway with the help from students from Shoeburyness who refereed and scored the games. The teams were placed in two pools, Alleyn Court and Westborough dominated their pools leaving them to face each other in the final. Chalkwell Hall and Earls Hall battled for 3rd and 4th place. Alleyn Court sealed victory with a 10-2 win over Westborough and Chalkwell Hall finished 3rd with Earls hall 4th.

Special commendation goes to Bournes Green who had an all girls squad taking part. The girls played extremely well and it was lovely to see them enthusiastic and enjoying a male dominating sport. Thank you to Tracy Bennett the competition manager along with the SESSP and SWSSP teams for their assistance in the running of this event.A big thank you must go to Shoeburyness High School staff and students who helped the event run so smoothly and so enjoyably for all involved.
