Students from Southend High school for Girls and Boys attending a Level 1 officials course in Athletics on Wednesday. The course lasted for four hours and covered all track and field events. Both practical and theory sessions balanced the morning out and the students really enjoyed the course. They are now looking forward to officiating at two events across the summer in the partnership.
The Level 1 Officials course is aimed at those over 14yrs and interested in officiating at Athletics events, but is an assistant role so will always be supervised until they have completed the level 2 when older and more experienced.
