Reception shine at the SportsHall Athletics

The final Sportshall Athletics competition for this academic year got underway today at The St Christopher School.  Seven schools joined in the fun, this time with their Reception children.  All in all there were one hundred and forty tiny pairs of feet running and jumping around, organised and supported by The Chase High School Young Leaders.

The boys and girls from Leigh Infants, Heycroft Primary, St Mary’s, West Leigh Infants, St Christopher’s, Blenheim Primary and Edwards Hall Primary took it in turns to compete on the track and in the field. Both sessions displayed great determination and co-ordination from these young athletes. The leader board was forever changing meaning each race counted. Blenheim stormed home in the final three races to seal victory in the morning session and West Leigh piping Heycroft to the post with a 4 point win the in the afternoon session.

Many congratulations to everyone who took part; we hope you all enjoyed yourselves – it definitely sounded like you did! A big thank you to the Chase High leaders for doing a fantastic job!

This event was a great conclusion to an Athletic filled week which also saw Heycroft compete at the Essex finals on Wednesday in the presence of Lord Sebastian Coe and Wenlock
