KS1 Football 2011

On Thursday 31st March schools from the west of Southend came together for the KS1 Football Tournament at Edwards Hall School.

The partnership was split into two pools with all teams playing each other once then following on to a semi final and final.

The participating schools from were Leigh Infants, Heycroft A & B, Our Lady of Lourdes, Edwards Hall, Westborough, West Leigh and Chalkwell.

Heycroft won their pool with Edwards Hall placing second, West Leigh also won their pool and Chalkwell placed second. The semi finals were extremely tense with Edwards Hall and Chalkwell Hall playing into extra time and then on to a Golden Goal situation. Edwards Hall sealed victory to play Heycroft in the final. Heycroft showed determination to win with a 2-0 final. West Leigh slipped a goal past Chalkwell to place third.

Special thanks to Stella Drury at Edwards Hall for organising the venue. To all teachers and parents who came to support and the SWSSP team who made sure the competition ran smoothly. We wish you all a lovely Easter and looking forward to some sport in the sun on our return.
