The first leg of the Southend Primary School Sports Association Torch relay saw the Torch leave Eastwood Academy for Eastwood Primary where all pupils had the opportunity to run a lap of their school track in groups of 2 or 3 whilst being cheered by their whole school.
The torch was then handed over to pupils from Kingsdown School who were greated by an excited crowd of pupils and staff upon their return.
Heycroft soon arrived for the torch handover bearing a brilliant array of Olympic and Paralympic flags. After carrying the torch back to their school, Heycroft put on a opening ceremony with pupils representing numerous competing countries.
Southend HAF scheme for the Winter holidays 21 December -30 December 2022. If your child reicieves a free school meal they are entitiled to attend a HAF programme for FREE during the winter holidays.
