Inter School Off Road Cycling competion 2012

The inaugural Southend Inter School Off Road Cycling competition took place on Thursday 31st May at Priory Park with some great performances!Organised by Des Tallon, Deputy head at Sacred Heart School along with members of staff from the Southend West Partnership and Cycle Southend, the event saw a packed schedule of racing.

Six schools competed for the title of Southend Inter School Off Road Cyling 2012 Champions, including Sacred Heart, St. Helen's, St Teresa's, Holy Trinity, Bournemouth Park and Thorpedene. Each school could enter two riders in each race, which was held one lap of the course with the first three riders in each race being awarded medals and all riders earning themselves a certificate for their efforts. Points were awarded in each race, based upon the rider's finishing position (1point for 1st, 2points for 2nd etc) and it was the team with the lowest overall score that were the overall winners.

After a great afternoon's racing, the points were tallied up and the presentation was held with the overall title being awarded to St Teresa's!

Congratulations to all competitors who took part and thank you to all staff who helped out to make this afternoon a success!
