Southend LDA

In June 2009, the Southend West School Sports Partnership was delighted to have the opportunity to work as the LDA (Local Delivery Agency) to construct a CPD calendar for both Southend West and Southend East Partnerships.

As part of the LDA provision, the significant priority areas identified were: dance, athletics, OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous Activities) and NQT training.

During July 2009 our SSCos liaised with primary schools to identify the CPD needs within their schools. These needs were then prioritised and staff were asked when in the academic calendar would prove most effective. This teacher driven approach was also carried out across secondary schools. Numerous PE staff expressing the need for athletic and swimming rescue courses. Hopefully we have listened well!

The calendar on the website today is not definitive. It is a working calendar, subject to modifications and additions. We are always open to any suggestions which will prove beneficial to PE staff within the Southend area.

Please note; CPD is non profit making and costs are kept to an absolute minimum. Already we have managed to reduce the cost of the Val Sabin Coaches in the Curriculum course from £130 to £30.
